The Best Teeth Whitening Kits

Do you want a whiter and brighter smile? Do your yellow teeth bother you? If they do, keep reading. This blog will explain the different types of teeth whitening kits we offer here at Carillon Dental Care and more.  A lot of our patients are interested in having pearly white teeth but are unsure how to go about actually booking in for this.

Carillon offers two types of at-home whitening kits

Here at Carillon, we offer two different types of teeth whitening kits. Both products have the same effect but the premium system can guarantee you a B1 shade (which is a nice pearly white).

Pola Day Teeth Whitening Kits

This kit of whitening costs £265 which includes:  10 tubes of whitening gel and a box to keep your trays safe.

This price also includes the making of the whitening trays which are clear trays similar to retainers.

With Pola Day, you wear the gels in a specially made tray for up to 1 hour a day.

Enlighten

This kit costs £550 although more expensive this whitening kit guarantees the patient to reach a lovely B1 shade.

What the kit includes:

  • 2x whitening syringes 1x 6% hydrogen peroxide and 1x 16% carbamide peroxide
  • Desensitising swabs to help with sensitivity
  • Two tubes of toothpaste, one to enhance the whitening and the other to prevent symptoms of sensitivity.

This lovely lady had Enlighten whitening with our cosmetic dentist Dr Raja, she also went on to have cosmetic treatment after.  A lot of patients like to complete their perfect smile with some composite bonding or veneers. You can find more information on composite bonding here.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does Charcoal toothpaste work?

A lot of patients frequently ask if charcoal toothpaste actually works. The answer is NO. charcoal toothpaste doesn’t contain fluoride so should not be a replacement for your ordinary toothpaste. Charcoal toothpaste can work to temporarily make the appearance of the teeth whiter but it does not whiten them as a whitening serum would do.

Each individual is different and the supermarket bought whitening toothpaste and gels will work differently for each person. Although some of this may work for a short time for some people it is not a permanent solution like our take-home kits that we offer here at Carillon Dental Care.

How long do they stay white for?

Once you have had your teeth whitened using with Pola day or Enlighten is it a permanent change. There is no timescale to say when the whitening will fade as each person is different.

To sustain the best results, we advise that you avoid eating foods such a curry, chocolate and drinking dark coloured drinks such as red wine, coke, tea or coffee. This may cause the teeth to re-stain.

A lot of people ask if they are able to whiten their teeth more once they have completed a whitening course. The answer is yes. With Pola Day we offer a top-up kit which includes 2X syringes of PolaDay whitening which is £29.99. Patients often like to purchase this before an event or special occasion.

What do I have to do afterwards?

We advise that after whitening you continue to avoid foods which will cause your teeth to re-stain particularly for the first 48 hours.  It is also recommended that you don’t smoke after having your teeth whitened as this can result in your teeth going back to their original shade.

Another thing that is very important is good oral hygiene. Although this is important before whitening your teeth it is even more important after whitening your teeth. If your oral hygiene is poor then the whitening will not last as long and when requesting top up syringes you may be declined as this is something very important.

Testimonials for our Teeth Whitening Kits

‘’I started my Enlighten experience, after suffering with sensitivity I decided to go with whitening kit as the dentist made me aware some people tend to suffer with sensitivity from Pola Day. My experience was really good and I only suffered a slight bit of sensitivity around my front teeth, but the swabs you get in the kit really helped. I’m so happy with the results and I’m always getting complimented on my whiter smile, I would highly recommend Enlighten if you suffer with sensitivity.’’

‘’I decided to have whitening when I started to notice that my teeth had started to stain. I asked my dentist what they would recommend and I was advised to try Pola whitening as I don’t suffer with sensitivity. After having moulds taken of my teeth, I was then explained how Pola worked and how to use it effectively. I found Pola extremely easy to use and started to notice changes straight away. After using it a couple of weeks I was very impressed in how whiter my smile was and how many compliments I was getting. I would definitely recommend using Pola as it has helped my confidence and made me want to smile more’’
